To keep your printed T-shirt fresh for a long time without losing the brightness of the printed image, you just need to follow a few simple tips for care.
5 TIPS ON HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR PRINTED T-SHIRTS
We’ve prepared a few tips to help you maintain the vibrancy of your prints and the quality of your T-shirt. You should not be intimidated by multiple washes, since they are not scary for high-quality models.
- Turn your clothes inside out before putting in them in the washing machine
This trick will provide more “protection” and less direct contact of the shirt prints to other garments and t-shirts. This simple step is easy and effective, it will ensure that printed t-shirts are more durable. Besides t-shirts, this can be used on jeans as well, to prevent its colour from fading, retaining the original fresh colour tone.
- Wash your t-shirts with cold water
When it comes to washing t-shirts, cold water is always much better than hot or warm water. There is really no need to wash your t-shirts in hot water, cold water will do the job in most cases.
- Avoid using bleach or fabric softeners
Regular detergent will do. It is enough to make your t-shirts clean and fresh. The use of bleach or strong detergents like softeners might damage prints on a shirt like vinyl prints which is done by heat transfer printing. Go for a milder detergent that will take care of your printed t-shirts.
- Do not iron T-shirt pants
Never iron directly on t-shirt prints. If there is really a need to iron, lower the temperature settings of the iron, turn the t-shirt inside out and iron. Again, heat is always bad for t-shirt prints, prolonged ironing will damage the prints, causing them to peel.
- Avoid dryers at all cost
Dryers are great as they save us time, however, it is particularly terrible for t-shirts and their prints. As mentioned throughout this post, heat is always bad for prints! They shrink garments and t-shirts (especially cotton t-shirts) as well as damage t-shirt prints, making them crack or peel. Hang dry your clothes the old fashion way, the best method.
If your eternal problem when washing is turning T-shirts into small ones, sweaters into large ones, red turning everything into pink, black into gray, blue into blue, then these simple tips and a good example will help you carry your favorite T-shirt for at least several years. Remember, or better, save!
